Call for general mobilization against asylum – immigration law

The BAAM calls all those with and without documents, collectives, associations, unions and political parties to mobilize against the asylum / immigration law! It is time for action: we must fight against this bill, and this fight must take place here and now. Here are some of the most dangerous examples of this repressive law: Thus article 5 of this future law, reduces the time from 120 days to 90 days to submit an asylum application through the regular procedure, allows the OFPRA (French Office for the Protection of Refugees and Stateless Persons) to impose the language in which the asylum seeker will be heard and worse yet, allows the convocation of migrant by any means necessary (phone, mail, text) Article 8, by making the appeals before the National Asylum Court (CNDA), for nationals of countries considered safe, non-suspensive, threatens the safety of, for example, LGBTQI migrants from these countries. Indeed, they will potentially be deported back to states leading anti-LGB policies (death penalty, prison, torture …). Article 6, by reducing the appeal period from 1 month to 15 days, will considerably limit access to the rights of asylum seekers. Article 16, on administrative detention, proposes to increase the maximum period of confinement in an administrative detention center from 45 days to 135 days. Article 19 plans to align the administrative detention time (16h) with the time of police custody (24h). This increase in detention time will be even more problematic for migrants who are sick and need to be treated. Because we reject the FRONTEX system, EURODAC and Dublin. Because we refuse the daily violence against the migrants in the calaisis, in Paris and in the south of France. Because we refuse the competition created between asylum seekers and undocumented migrants. Because we refuse to be passive witnesses of a government policy that is detrimental to the freedoms of migrants. Because we reject this political practice of dividing political struggles to better weaken them. Because we are much stronger by our number and our combined wishes. We, for whom solidarity is not a vain word but a principle. We call you on you to join our large demonstration on April 15, the day before the text will be presented to the National Assembly, from the National Assembly to the Senate. Only our collective determination will push back the government. If you want to sign the call, you can send us an email at baam.asso@gmail.com or by post on our Facebook page. If you want to get mobilized in your region and your cities, do not hesitate to coordinate and get closer to us. Press contact: Julian: 0658810321 Héloïse: 0626192090 #LoiAsileImmigrationNON
